Tech-savvy toddlers play games on iPads, so it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine developers designing apps to entertain pampered pets. Dogs seem to get get the bulk of the tech attention, so it’s high time that cats get in on the action. Yes, now your cat doesn’t have to wait for you to play chase-the-laser-light or entice him with a piece of string. Here are five new apps that can amuse your cat almost as much as that squirrel or bird in your yard. Crazy Cat “Crazy Cat” will probably entertain you almost as much as it does your cat. The objective of the game is very simple: make your cat hit the moving bugs or mice. If they move really fast and your cat manages to strike, your cat gets more points. You can also use bluetooth-enabled phones to control the motion of the bugs and mice, and join in on the fun. The game is available for free on iOS but has ads. Game for Cats Cats love chasing small things and this app takes advantage of their natural instinct. The game starts with a glowing ball that moves around the screen. Some cats may resist at first, but they will eventually succumb to temptation and start smacking the screen. Each time they strike the ball, they get points. You can also see the scores of other cats and see how your cat competes against others. The app is available for free on iOS. Paint for Cats Unleash the creativity of your cat and share the crazy pictures that they create. Paint for Cats lets your cat chase a mouse, but that’s not the cool part. When your cat chases the mouse, it leaves behind a trail of vibrant colors. What’s more, each time the cat strikes the mouse, it also gives out a realistic squeak. After your cat is done painting and chasing the mouse, you can save the “painting,” share it with your friends—or even print it out to stick on your fridge. Cat Playground Cat Playground is essentially a combination of the other games on this list. It contains four mini games which include catching the mouse, following the red dot, catching fish and a “Whack a Mouse” type game. The fishing game seems to entice cats the most, as it gives out a very realistic splashing sound each time the screen is struck. Pocket Pond All cats like fish, right? Pocket Pond shows a very believable fish bowl that has gentle ripples and unique customizations that only the most docile cats cat resist. You can even grow the fish inside the bowl by periodically feeding them and also decorate your fishbowl to make it more enticing for the cat. The game is available for free on Android and iOS. Next up: maybe some apps to entertain your fish?
